NARBERTH – Exciting changes are on the horizon for parking in Narberth, with new regulations set to take effect from July 1 onwards.

Residents of Narberth will soon experience a revamped residential parking system, as the borough transitions to a digital permitting system. This means that residents will no longer require physical parking stickers to display.

One of the major changes includes the division of Narberth into three distinct parking neighbourhoods to provide flexibility for eligible permit holders.

Parking Neighbourhoods

The North zone encompasses Narbrook Park and areas located north of Stuart, Woodbine, and Iona avenues, extending along Montgomery Avenue to North Wynnewood Avenue.

The central zone covers the region from Windsor to Conway, running along Stuart and Woodbine avenues to Iona and Montgomery, before concluding at Haverford Road.

The south zone includes the areas south of the SEPTA R5 line and the commercial zone south of Haverford Avenue, extending to the borough’s border with Lower Merion at Narberth Avenue.

Permit Flexibility

Residents living on streets designated as restricted parking zones will have the freedom to park anywhere within their designated parking neighbourhood. Permits will no longer be tied to specific streets.

For instance, a vehicle permitted to park within the Central Neighbourhood will have the liberty to park at any location within that particular zone.

No additional restricted parking areas have been introduced in the borough, and these changes do not apply to areas without restricted parking or streets featuring parking meters.

Implementation Details

While the new regulations are slated to come into effect on July 1, 2024, residents residing in two-hour parking zones are encouraged to register for a permit without delay. Existing parking sticker holders will also be required to complete the registration process.
