In a tragic turn of events, a woman has lost her life in a shooting incident that occurred in Dillon County, South Carolina. The incident took place on Tuesday, June 18, and has left the community in shock.
Details of the Incident
On the fateful morning of June 18, authorities received a distressing call regarding a shooting on Florence Avenue in Dillon. Upon their arrival, they discovered a victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Immediate medical attention was provided, and the victim was swiftly airlifted to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Regrettably, the victim, identified as 19-year-old Kaylin Hinson from Dillon, succumbed to her injuries. The Dillon County Coroner, Donnie Grimsley, confirmed the tragic news, leaving friends and family devastated by the loss.
Arrest Made in Connection to the Shooting
Following intensive investigations, authorities were able to identify the suspect as 23-year-old Juna’ka Bethea from Sellers. Bethea was apprehended just an hour after the incident in Latta and has been charged with murder in connection to the shooting.
The swift action taken by law enforcement in apprehending the suspect has provided some sense of closure to the community, yet the pain of losing a young life remains.
