Suffolk County Police are currently conducting an investigation into the death of a man who was found strangled on the side of a road in East Farmingdale, Long Island, early Saturday morning.
The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Juan Carlos Diaz Geronimo from North Amityville. He was discovered on Garity Place around 1:30 a.m. by a local resident, who immediately called 911 after finding Diaz Geronimo lying in the grass between Morton Street and East Carmans Road.
Upon arrival, police pronounced him dead at the scene and quickly determined that he had been strangled, leading them to classify the incident as a homicide.
Authorities are currently in the process of reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and homes to gather more information. The investigation is still ongoing as they work to piece together the events leading up to Diaz Geronimo’s death.
