Jayda Z. Wise : “SW Portland Armed Robbery: Man Shot, Woman Pistol-Whipped”

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Two individuals were left injured following an armed robbery incident in southwest Portland on Saturday. The Portland Police Bureau reported that one suspect has been arrested, while a second suspect remains at large.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m., three individuals approached a PPB officer at Southwest 14th Avenue and Southwest Taylor Street, reporting that they had been victims of a robbery. The officer observed a man and a woman fleeing the scene, as per police reports.

One of the victims, a 28-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg, while a 35-year-old female victim stated that she was struck in the head with a handgun by one of the assailants. The third victim, a 46-year-old male, suffered a minor neck injury.

The responding officer alerted nearby units and promptly administered a tourniquet to stop the bleeding of the gunshot victim.

Within minutes, another officer located a woman matching the description of one of the suspects near Southwest 19th Avenue and West Burnside Street. The woman was apprehended, along with a male individual who was later determined to be uninvolved in the incident and subsequently released.

The male victim with the gunshot wound was transported to the hospital via ambulance and is expected to recover. The female victim declined medical transport to the hospital.

The identified suspect, 20-year-old Jayda Z. Wise, also known as Demarion Z. Wise, was taken into custody and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. She is facing charges including three counts of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree assault.
