In a tragic incident near Fattepur village under Bithoor police station area of Kanpur district, one person lost their life while three others sustained injuries after the E-rickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a car late on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Gangaram, 60, hailing from village Bauli in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh.
Locals and passers-by acted swiftly, launching a rescue operation before alerting the police. The car driver, responsible for the accident, was apprehended by the crowd and handed over to the authorities after being thrashed.
Upon receiving the distress call, the police promptly arrived at the scene and rushed the injured individuals to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) hospital for medical treatment. The injured victims were identified as Dayashankar (40), Jai Singh (70) from village Bilaithi in Pandokhar Datia police station area, Madhya Pradesh, and E-rickshaw driver Abhay Sonkar, 22, residing in Narayanpur, Lajpat Nagar police station Nazirabad area of Kanpur.
The car involved in the collision was registered with a Haryana number plate. Eyewitnesses reported that the car driver was overspeeding, leading to the tragic accident. A case of negligent and rash driving has been registered against the driver, as confirmed by ACP Bilhaur Ajay Trivedi.
The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at LLR hospital, where doctors have deemed their conditions to be stable. Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has been informed about the unfortunate incident, as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Vikrant Jhan, a resident of Mandawali Fazalpur, provided a statement following the incident, highlighting the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent such tragedies. Earlier in March, a 17-year-old driver caused a fatal accident at Mayur Vihar market, claiming the life of a 22-year-old woman.
