A man in Memphis is facing charges of burglary and robbery after allegedly breaking into a woman’s Jeep and threatening her with a gun. The incident took place on Wednesday, June 12, at the intersection of G.E. Patterson and Hernando.
The victim reported to police that she had noticed the passenger door of her Jeep slightly open around 4 a.m. She initially dismissed it, as she had left her luggage and purse on the passenger side. However, when she entered the vehicle and detected a strong odor of marijuana, she became suspicious.
Upon investigating, the victim found a light-skinned Black man with a tattoo over his eye sitting in the backseat of her Jeep, armed with a handgun. The suspect, later identified as Christian McBee, allegedly threatened her, demanding her to exit the vehicle to avoid being shot.
After complying with the suspect’s demands, the victim saw McBee flee the scene with her purse, which contained valuable items. She later positively identified him in a photographic lineup as the perpetrator of the robbery and burglary.
Christian McBee was apprehended on June 21 and charged with aggravated robbery and burglary of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 24 to face these charges.
