Kootenai County Authorities Search for Teenager Who Escaped from Juvenile Detention Center

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and the Coeur d’Alene Police Department are currently on the lookout for a teenager who managed to escape from the Kootenai County Juvenile Detention Center.

Reports from the sheriff’s office indicate that on June 21 at approximately 3:33 p.m., authorities received information about two teenagers who had fled from the detention center. Both law enforcement agencies immediately initiated a search operation for the missing teenagers. Coeur d’Alene police successfully located one of the escapees at Fourth Street and Gregory Lane, while the other was last spotted heading north on Dalton Avenue from the Juvenile Detention Center.

The teenager who remains at large has been identified as 15-year-old Caden J. Schreibeis. Described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, he has medium-length brown hair and was last seen dressed in a green shirt and blue sweatpants.

One of the escaped teenagers has already been apprehended and charged with offences including wounding a prison and conspiracy to escape. The individual was taken into custody without any further incident, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
