The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’Alene Police Department are currently on the lookout for a teenager who managed to escape from the Kootenai County Juvenile Detention Center. The incident took place on June 21 at approximately 3:33 p.m. when authorities received a report that two juveniles had fled from the detention center.
Following the alert, both law enforcement agencies immediately launched a search operation to locate the escaped teens. While one of the teenagers was found on Fourth Street and Gregory Lane by the Coeur d’Alene Police, the other managed to evade capture and was last spotted running north across Dalton Avenue from the Juvenile Detention Center.
The teenager who is currently at large has been identified as Caden J. Schreibeis, aged 15. He is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds, with medium-length brown hair. At the time of his escape, he was dressed in a green shirt and blue sweatpants.
Meanwhile, the other teenager who was apprehended has been booked on charges that include injuring a jail facility and conspiracy to commit escape. The arrest was made without any resistance, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
