The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’Alene Police Department are currently on the lookout for a teenager who managed to escape from the Kootenai County Juvenile Detention Center. The incident took place on June 21, at approximately 3:33 p.m., when authorities received reports of two teens breaking out of the detention facility.
Following the alert, both law enforcement agencies immediately launched a search operation to locate the escaped teens. One of the teenagers was successfully apprehended by the Coeur d’Alene Police in the vicinity of Fourth Street and Gregory Lane. However, the other teen, identified as 15-year-old Caden J. Schreibeis, managed to evade capture and was last spotted fleeing northwards across Dalton Avenue from the Juvenile Detention Center.
Caden J. Schreibeis is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with medium-length brown hair. At the time of his escape, he was wearing a green shirt and blue sweatpants. The authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Caden’s whereabouts to contact the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 446-1300.
The other teen who was apprehended during the escape attempt has been taken into custody and booked on several charges, including causing damage to a jail facility and conspiring to escape. The arrest of this individual was carried out without any further incidents, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
