William Spears : Rockford Man Faces Multiple Charges in Narcotics Case

A 66-year-old man from Rockford, Illinois, has been arrested and is facing charges after an investigation conducted by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit.

William Spears has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a firearm without a FOID card, and manufacture or delivery of cocaine.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit launched an investigation following reports of illegal narcotics sales in the Rockford area. The suspect, identified as William Spears, was apprehended by officers in the 2000 block of 11th Street. During the arrest, cocaine was discovered on his person.

Further Investigation Leads to Discovery of Drugs and Firearms

Following Spears’s arrest, a search was conducted at his residence and a storage unit located in the 4000 block of S 6th Street. Law enforcement officials uncovered significant quantities of cocaine, a substantial amount of cash, and a loaded handgun at the locations.
