Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man who was arrested for manslaughter in Sicamous in the early hours of Wednesday morning has been released from custody, as reported by the Sicamous RCMP.

The incident unfolded when paramedics were called to a mobile home park on the 1700-block of Hillier Road just before 5 a.m. on June 19. Upon arrival, they found an unresponsive woman in the driveway of one of the park’s units. Despite their efforts, the woman, identified as 66-year-old Jo Ann Jackson of Sicamous, was declared deceased at the scene.

Following the discovery, a male suspect was located in the area and subsequently arrested for manslaughter. He was later released on Thursday under the condition that he does not return to the mobile home park. The case has now been taken over by the Southeast District Major Crime Unit for further investigation.

While Jackson’s death is believed to be an isolated incident, authorities have indicated that there may be a potential public safety risk. As a result, additional measures will be implemented within their authority to address any concerns that may arise.
