A suspect has been formally charged in connection with the tragic death of a woman who was discovered lifeless inside her residence in Richland County. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has announced that Jerrod Graham, aged 35, has been arrested and charged with murder and death/injury to a child in utero during a violent crime.
The deceased woman has been identified as Chandreka D. Graham, aged 31, who was found deceased on Wednesday morning at a property located on Northfield Court in northeast Richland County, near the intersections of Longtown and Clemson roads.
Deputies were conducting a routine check at the property around 11 a.m. when they made the grim discovery of Chandreka Graham unresponsive inside. Upon entering the premises, they found the woman with severe head trauma. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have indicated that the exact cause of the head injuries sustained by Chandreka Graham remains unconfirmed at this time.
Following a swift investigation, Jerrod Graham was released from a secure facility on Thursday and taken into custody by sheriff’s department investigators. He was then transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has assured the public that the investigation into this tragic incident is still ongoing, with further details expected to emerge in due course.
