On the morning of June 19, 2024, at around 9:00 A.M., the Prescott Police Officers received a call from a female victim reporting an incident of public indecency at Acker Park on 421 S. Virginia Street. The victim stated that she had witnessed an adult male suspect engaging in lewd behavior near the trail within the park.
The victim was able to provide a detailed description of the suspect, who had already left the scene by the time the officers arrived. Despite conducting a thorough search of the area, the officers were unable to locate the suspect at that time.
The following day, on June 20, 2024, the original case officer spotted a man matching the description of the suspect near Sixth Street and Alarcon Street. The officer approached the individual, identified as 23-year-old Prescott resident Elijah Martin, and discovered that he had an outstanding arrest warrant from Maricopa County for various charges, including indecent exposure.
Martin was promptly arrested on the warrant. Subsequent investigations, including a photo lineup with the victim and the examination of evidence found in Martin’s possession, conclusively linked him to the Acker Park incident.
As a result, Martin was taken into custody and booked into Yavapai County Jail on charges of public sexual indecency, indecent exposure, and the existing warrant from Maricopa County.
