Accident – Death – Obituary News : Four students from a prestigious college in Bandra tragically lost their lives in a drowning incident at the Dhavari river near Sondai Fort in Raigad on Friday. The group of 37 students had embarked on a trip to Sondewadi, where they trekked to Sondai fort before heading to the river for a swim.

The police revealed that the group, comprising 22 male and 15 female students, had set out on their trip by bus. After trekking to Sondai fort between 10 am and 1:30 pm, they decided to cool off in the Dhavari river at Pokharwadi near Sondewadi village. Tragedy struck around 2:30 p.m. when 18-year-old Eklavya Umesh Singh went missing in the water.

In a brave attempt to save their fellow student, three others, identified as Ishant Dinesh Yadav (19), Akash Dharmadas Mane (26), and Ranath Mahadu Banda (18), jumped in. Unfortunately, all four students ended up drowning in the river. The authorities were alerted, and the bodies were recovered and taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

The police have opened an investigation into the incident, treating it as a case of accidental death. The tragic loss of these young lives has sent shockwaves through the college community and beyond.
