Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident occurred on Thursday evening, resulting in the death of a female cyclist and the arrest of a 59-year-old man in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. The collision, involving a 2020 Green Jeep and a blue Schwinn tricycle style bike, took place on Boston Neck Road at the Earle Drive intersection.

Captain John K. MacCoy Jr. reported that the female cyclist, a 53-year-old resident of North Kingstown, was riding in the northbound breakdown lane of Boston Neck Road when she was struck from behind by the Jeep driven by Daniel J. Famiglietti of Warwick, RI. Emergency services from the North Kingstown Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene, and the cyclist was rushed to Kent Hospital, where she was sadly pronounced deceased.

Following an initial investigation, Famiglietti was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence resulting in death. He was held overnight and is scheduled to be arraigned at the 3rd Division District Court on Friday morning. The North Kingstown Police Crash Reconstruction Unit and Detective Division are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
