At approximately 7 o’clock in the evening on Friday, 14th June, a traffic stop was initiated by an officer from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office on Blodgett Mills Road in Cortlandville. The stop was made in response to a vehicle and traffic violation.

Upon conducting the traffic stop investigation, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle, identified as 34-year-old Casey L. Chorley from Freetown, and the passenger, 25-year-old Jastinee M. Catalano from Cortland, were in possession of a loaded firearm. Both individuals were found to be prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Further examination of the vehicle led to the discovery that Chorley was also in possession of illegal narcotics. As a result, Chorley was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Prohibitions on the use and Possession of Firearms, and Sidewings / Side windows non-transparent.

Catalano was also taken into custody and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree, and Prohibitions on the use and Possession of Firearms. Both individuals were transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and are scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court on Monday.
