A 16-year-old girl, identified as Sarina Vootkur, was operating the jet ski with her 13-year-old friend, Elle Kim, as a passenger. Witnesses reported that the jet ski was travelling at a high speed directly towards the boat, leaving the man with no time to avoid the collision. Despite wearing life vests, both girls were knocked unconscious and thrown into the water upon impact.
