Remy Ma : “Remy Ma’s Son Arrested for Murder in Fatal Shooting”

23-year-old Jayson Scott, the son of renowned rapper Remy Ma, was recently arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that took place in Queens, New York in 2021. The incident, which occurred on June 7, 2021, resulted in the tragic death of Darius Guillebeaux.

Scott was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon following his arrest on Tuesday by the New York City Police Department.

In response to the allegations against her son, a representative for Remy Ma issued a statement asserting that the accusations were baseless. The statement expressed Remy Ma’s unwavering support for her son, emphasizing his innocence and her commitment to proving it in the ongoing case.

Legal Proceedings and Additional Arrest

As of Thursday, Scott had not been arraigned on the charges, and court records were not yet available. Alongside Scott, another suspect named Richard Swygert was also arrested on a murder charge related to the same case. Swygert’s public defender did not offer immediate comment on the matter.

The fatal shooting took place at 148th Street and Rockaway Boulevard, near John F. Kennedy Airport. Guillebeaux, aged 47, sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the head and chest during the incident and was pronounced dead at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

Reports from local news outlet QNS.com indicated that Guillebeaux was engaged in a dispute with two men prior to the gunfire that claimed his life.

Previous Allegations Against Guillebeaux

Notably, Guillebeaux was among the individuals targeted in the New York Attorney General’s “Operation Heat Wave” in November 2020. The operation aimed to dismantle drug trafficking rings, with Guillebeaux being accused of serving as a narcotics source for a drug operation based in upstate New York.
