Police in 55 Division are seeking a 27-year-old man wanted on multiple charges.
Toronto police are appealing to the public for help in locating a man wanted on several charges following an incident in the Greenwood and Danforth avenues area earlier this week.
Authorities reported that on Tuesday, June 18, around 6:30 p.m., officers spotted a vehicle that was allegedly stolen in the area.
Upon observing a man and a woman in the vehicle who exited to make a purchase at a gas station, officers approached and apprehended the woman while the man fled on foot, as stated in a news release issued on June 20.
The woman was subsequently charged, and the vehicle was impounded by police.
An ongoing investigation is underway, with police still searching for the man identified as Matthew Carter, aged 27, with no fixed address. He faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of probation breach, and failure to comply with a release order.
A security camera image of Carter has been released in the hopes of someone recognizing him and informing the authorities of his whereabouts. Described as having an average build, with a moustache, goatee, and blue eyes, he was last seen donning a black jacket, grey Adidas pants, and a white and yellow baseball hat.
