A fatal hit-and-run incident occurred in Hartford late on Wednesday night, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. The vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene and was later discovered ablaze on Interstate 384.
Law enforcement officers were alerted to the incident at 11:55 p.m. in the vicinity of Main Street, just north of Tower Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a 40-year-old man, later identified as Lutricia Daniels from Chicopee, Massachusetts, severely injured as a result of the collision. Tragically, Daniels was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.
The vehicle responsible for hitting Daniels was reported to be a red Honda Accord, which swiftly departed the scene and was last seen heading south on Main Street following the tragic event.
Subsequently, the abandoned vehicle was discovered by the Connecticut State Police engulfed in flames on I-384 East, near Exit 2. The Hartford Police Crime Scene Division promptly took charge of the investigation into this distressing incident.
