A Rolla man has been arrested after allegedly shooting a pharmacy worker during an attempted robbery at Sinks Pharmacy in Rolla, Missouri. The suspect, identified as Justin M. Wonsewitz, 41, is facing pending charges of first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and armed criminal action, according to the Rolla Police Department.

The incident took place around 10 a.m. when Wonsewitz reportedly entered the pharmacy and shot an employee while attempting to steal drugs. The victim, a 52-year-old resident of Rolla, was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the shooting, Wonsewitz fled the scene with some drugs and was spotted leaving in a black car. Rolla Police officers located the vehicle speeding east on 10th Street and initiated a pursuit.

Eventually, the police were able to stop the car and arrest Wonsewitz without further incident. Fortunately, no officers were injured during the apprehension.

Wonsewitz is currently being held in the Phelps County Jail pending formal charges. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather more information about the motive behind the attempted robbery.
