NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Two individuals have been taken into custody following a violent shootout in a parking lot in North Charleston last week.
Davian Brown, aged 18, faces charges of two counts of attempted murder, as indicated by jail records. Additionally, a 17-year-old suspect has been apprehended, although the authorities have chosen not to disclose the minor’s identity due to their age.
The incident unfolded just before 1 p.m. on June 10 within the confines of a parking lot situated at a business establishment along Rivers Avenue. Eyewitnesses recounted a harrowing scene in which occupants of a black SUV and a gray SUV engaged in a shootout before hastily fleeing towards Rivers Avenue, heading in the direction of Interstate 26.
There were reports suggesting that at least one individual sustained injuries during the exchange of gunfire. Subsequent investigations revealed that a gunshot victim, identified as Davian Brown, had been admitted to a nearby medical facility approximately two minutes after the altercation. Brown had sustained gunshot wounds to both legs, as well as his shoulder and elbow, according to the official report.
The 17-year-old suspect had also suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and subsequently received medical treatment at another local hospital.
Law enforcement officials recovered a total of 21 shell casings from the scene, as outlined in the incident report.
Davian Brown was apprehended on Friday and is currently being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
