Police Pursuit and Arrest
Deputies responded to an armed robbery on Janet Avenue on Sunday, where they encountered one of the suspects, Adam Boyd, at the scene. Boyd attempted to flee from the deputy and ended up crashing his truck on Annette Avenue, causing damage to another vehicle. Subsequently, Boyd ran his car through a fence and into a yard during the crash. He managed to escape from the car and fled the scene, triggering a manhunt that led to residents being advised to stay indoors.
Details of the Robbery
The victim of the armed robbery stated that Boyd and a second suspect, identified as Tray Choate, 22, approached him while he was outside his home on Janet Avenue. The suspects noticed that the victim had cash on him and proceeded to punch him, demanding his wallet. During the confrontation, Boyd allegedly struck the victim in the stomach with the barrel of a gun.
Arrest and Charges
Boyd agreed to speak with the police on Tuesday, and after a brief delay at a tire outlet, he was arrested by a deputy. He is facing charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery with a firearm, grand theft, and grand theft of a firearm. Boyd’s bond has been set at $65,000.
