MANNING, S.C. (WIS) – A 61-year-old man has been taken into custody by authorities in Manning, South Carolina, on suspicion of killing his girlfriend by choking her.

The incident, which resulted in the death of 58-year-old Robin F. Gano, took place in the Buckhorn subdivision on Nicole Drive. Clarendon County Sheriff’s Department received a distress call from Thomas E. Cramer, 61, who reported that he had choked his girlfriend and she was unresponsive.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered the lifeless body of the woman in the master bathroom of the residence. Despite efforts by Clarendon County Fire Rescue, Gano could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an interrogation of Cramer, law enforcement officials concluded that the couple had engaged in a domestic altercation, during which Cramer resorted to physical violence, including hitting and strangling his partner. Both individuals shared a home on Nicole Drive.

Cramer was subsequently apprehended and charged with murder. He is presently incarcerated at the Clarendon County Detention Center pending further legal proceedings.

The Clarendon County Sheriff’s Department has expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and assured the public that they are conducting a thorough investigation into the tragic incident.
