RUSK COUNTY, Texas — In a recent incident on June 17, 2024, the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Shift C responded to a report concerning two individuals behaving incoherently while parked in the roadway at the intersection of FM 782 and FM 1716.

Upon investigation, the vehicle occupants were identified as 38-year-old Rikki Ramirez and 38-year-old Cameron Spears, both residents of Gladewater. The authorities discovered that Ramirez and Spears were in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Subsequently, both individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Rusk County Jail. They have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 (Methamphetamine).

Furthermore, Spears faced additional charges of Fail to Identify and was served with out-of-county warrants for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Justice of the Peace Pct #5 Jana Enloe set Ramirez’s bond at $7,500, while Spears received bonds amounting to $46,000. As of the latest update, both Spears and Ramirez remain incarcerated in the Rusk County Jail.

This incident highlights the diligent efforts of law enforcement in Rusk County to combat drug-related activities and ensure the safety of the community.
