DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Danville police have made an arrest in connection to a homicide that took place on Piney Forest Road on the evening of June 18.
The Danville Police Department (DPD) received a call around 10:49 p.m. on Tuesday, reporting a shooting at the Woodside Village apartment complex on the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road. Upon arrival, officers found 24-year-old Tasean Delvecchio Farmer suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Farmer was rushed to SOVAH Health, where he was sadly pronounced dead from his injuries.
After an investigation, 32-year-old Richard Lee Wilson, a resident of Danville, was identified as a suspect in the case. Wilson allegedly fled the scene after the shooting but was later apprehended in North Carolina.
Wilson has been charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm during the commission of a violent felony, reckless handling of a firearm, and discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.
The DPD has assured the public that this incident appears to be isolated, and there is no immediate threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing.
