After initially being reported as a self-inflicted incident, the tragic shooting of a 17-year-old girl in the Concerned Citizens of Forest Park neighbourhood has now been officially classified as a homicide by the Baltimore Police.
The incident took place on June 6 in the 3100 block of Chelsea Terrace, where officers from the Northwest District responded to a call about a possible self-inflicted shooting. The victim, identified as Navaeh Ferguson, was discovered with a severe gunshot wound that was deemed life-threatening.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention, Ferguson sadly succumbed to her injuries on June 11. Following a thorough investigation, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed that Ferguson’s untimely death was the result of a homicide, as revealed by the police on Wednesday.
