Accident – Death – Obituary News :
A man was fatally shot while standing on the side of the road in Purok Tambis, New Riverside, Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City, Cebu, at noon on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Marlon Muaña Lañuza.
According to the investigation, Lañuza was standing in front of a junk shop on the roadside, appearing to be waiting for someone when two assailants on a motorcycle approached. The backrider dismounted and fired multiple shots at Lañuza before fleeing the scene.
Lañuza was quickly taken to Maayo Hospital in Mandaue City, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival by medical personnel. The police, specifically operatives from Mandaue Police Station 5, wasted no time launching the “Oplan Universe” dragnet operation to track down the perpetrators.
As of now, the motive behind the attack remains unknown, and investigators are working tirelessly to uncover the truth behind this senseless act of violence. Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to come forward and assist the authorities in their investigation.
