Kent Police Arrest Two Teens After Stolen Car Flips at Intersection, Injuring Multiple People

KENT, England – Kent Police apprehended a 16-year-old and another teenage suspect following a harrowing incident where they allegedly stole a car and crashed it at an intersection, causing serious injuries to multiple individuals on Monday night.

Law enforcement officers were summoned to the Marketplace at Lake Meridian shopping mall at 9:08 p.m. in response to a recently stolen vehicle. A woman reported that two individuals, posing as potential buyers, made off with her blue PT Cruiser.

An officer swiftly located the stolen vehicle travelling westbound on SE 256th St. near 123nd Ave. SE, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspects chose to accelerate, prompting the officer to refrain from pursuing them due to heavy traffic in the vicinity.

Shortly after, authorities discovered the stolen vehicle overturned at the intersection of SE 256th St. and 116th Ave. SE.

The suspects collided with an Audi Q5 and Toyota Corolla, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles. While the occupants of the Audi escaped major injuries, the 47-year-old driver of the Toyota sustained multiple fractures, and his 18-year-old passenger was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver was identified as a 16-year-old boy from Kent, who reportedly exited the stolen vehicle through a window after the crash. The second suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed but is believed to be a teenager or young adult, had to be extricated from the car.

Both individuals were transported to a local hospital for medical attention, with the second suspect in critical condition. His current state is undisclosed.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, with authorities stating that the suspects could potentially face charges for vehicular assault and motor vehicle theft.
