Missoula Police Arrest Men for Drug Crimes.
Accident – Death – Obituary News : Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) – In the late hours of June 13, 2024, the Missoula Police Department received a report from a concerned witness regarding a public indecency incident on Broadway Street. According to the witness, a female was observed engaging in “oral sex” with a male in the area. Responding officers quickly located a male and female matching the description provided by the witness.
Upon further investigation, the male individual was identified as 52-year-old James Dempsey, who was found to have an active warrant out of Lake County. Dempsey was promptly arrested and taken into custody. During the arrest, officers conducted a search of Dempsey’s belongings and discovered needles, a glass smoking pipe, and a clear baggie containing a white, crystalline substance, later confirmed to be methamphetamine. As a result, Dempsey is facing charges of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
Interestingly, on the same day, another unrelated incident occurred involving 48-year-old Teuray Cornell. Probation and Parole officers conducting a search of Cornell’s residence found multiple blue “M 30” pills in his possession. Subsequent searches of Cornell’s belongings revealed additional pills, believed to be fentanyl, along with drug paraphernalia including butane torch lighters, glass pipes, and ammunition.
Cornell denied possessing dangerous drugs but was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. Both individuals are currently facing legal proceedings as a result of these incidents.
These events serve as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in the Missoula area.
