Early this morning, law enforcement authorities in Wicomico County responded to a distressing incident at a residential property in the 100 block of Cedar Way, Salisbury. Upon arrival at approximately 4 AM, deputies discovered a woman with a severe knife wound to her forehead. Immediate first aid was administered, and the victim was swiftly transported to Tidal Health for further medical attention.

The situation took a dangerous turn when the suspect barricaded himself inside the house. In a coordinated effort, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, Salisbury Police Department, Salisbury University Police Department, and the Maryland State Police K-9 unit worked together to establish a secure perimeter around the residence, ensuring the safety of nearby residents.

Despite attempts at negotiation, the standoff persisted, prompting the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) to devise a strategic plan.
