Accident – Death – Obituary News : Homicide investigators are seeking assistance from the public in locating a suspect wanted in connection with the tragic shooting death of a 39-year-old man in Lemon Grove last year. The victim, Gregory Moore, was fatally shot in the torso and legs on Lemon Grove Avenue near Montana Street in March 2023, according to a news release issued by sheriff’s Lt. Michael Krugh on Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Daniel Ethridge, is believed to be connected to Moore’s death. Following the shooting, Moore managed to drive a short distance to San Miguel Avenue, where he was discovered unconscious in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Moore succumbed to his injuries.
Through their investigation, deputies determined that Moore was acquainted with the individuals responsible for his murder, and that the shooting was the result of a prior altercation. Ethridge is one of four individuals who have been charged in connection with Moore’s death. He is currently the subject of a murder arrest warrant and is thought to have ties to a local street gang. Additionally, Ethridge has previous convictions for assault with a deadly weapon and firing into an occupied dwelling.
Described as standing at 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds, Ethridge has brown hair and eyes. Law enforcement officials have cautioned that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
To aid in the apprehension of Ethridge, the U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of £5,000, while Crime Stoppers is offering an additional £1,000 to anyone who provides information leading to his capture.
