COLUMBUS, OH — Violent Assault at McDonald’s in Columbus Under Investigation

Columbus Police are currently investigating a brutal assault that took place late Thursday night, May 24, 2024, in front of a McDonald’s restaurant located at 1972 N High St. The incident, which left the victim with severe facial injuries including a broken jaw and other bones, was reported to a patrol officer at approximately 11:24 PM.

The victim recounted that the assault began after he made a comment about an intoxicated individual causing a disruption in traffic on High St. This remark sparked a confrontation where the intoxicated person, offended by the comment, proceeded to harass the victim and his girlfriend. As the victim attempted to leave the scene, he was blindsided by a blow to the back of his head, causing him to fall to the ground, where he was repeatedly kicked in the face.

The Columbus Police have identified two male suspects and two female persons of interest in connection with the assault. Ongoing efforts are being made to locate these individuals as part of the investigation into this violent incident.
