Accident – Death – Obituary News : The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP)’s Rajya Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh, Beedha Mastan Rao, has found himself at the center of a tragic incident involving his daughter, Beedha Madhuri. Madhuri allegedly drove her BMW car over a 22-year-old man who was sleeping on a pavement in Chennai on Monday. The victim, identified as Surya, was a painter who had recently gotten married and was trying to make ends meet through his painting and odd jobs.
Madhuri surrendered herself to the local police station following the incident and was granted bail the next day. This shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the community and raised questions about road safety and the responsibility of drivers.
Born in Iskapalli village of Allur mandal in Nellore district, Rao is the chairman of BMR industries, a leading exporter of shrimp in the country. He began his political career with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the early 2000s and served as a Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) member from Bogol mandal.
Rao, who is considered the first Yadav leader from the TDP in the district, gained popularity among the Yadav, Muslim, and Matsyakara communities in Nellore. He completed his schooling in Gudur district and attended Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), where he was classmates with YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy.
In 2009, Rao made his debut in Assembly polls from the Kavali segment, winning against the Congress candidate. Despite his initial success, Rao faced challenges within his party and lost the 2014 Assembly elections. He then served as an advisory member of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) before joining the YSRCP in 2022.
As an MP, Rao has been actively involved in committees related to agriculture, animal husbandry, food processing, and commerce and industry. His switch to the YSRCP has been seen as a strategic move to secure a Rajya Sabha berth and further his political career.
