A shocking and tragic incident has unfolded in Lowell, Massachusetts, where a 21-year-old man named Trevor Bady has been taken into custody for allegedly killing his 15-year-old girlfriend, Ahliana Dickey. The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office released a statement detailing the horrific events that took place inside the young girl’s family home last week.
Disturbing Details of the Incident
The shooting, which occurred on June 14, coincided with what should have been a joyous occasion for Ahliana – her middle school graduation day. However, the teenager never showed up for the ceremony, prompting her family to search for her. Tragically, they discovered her lifeless body with gunshot wounds in a first-floor bedroom of their Lawrence Street home.
According to reports, Ahliana had been in an abusive relationship with Bady, who had allegedly assaulted her and made threats against her in the past. Witnesses reported hearing a heated argument between a male and female outside the residence, followed by gunshots. Video footage captured Ahliana calling for help before Bady was seen leaving the scene.
Arrest and Charges
After fleeing the crime scene in an Uber, Bady was apprehended at his Peabody residence. He has been charged with Ahliana’s murder, armed home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, use of a firearm while committing a felony, and discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
During Bady’s court hearing, it was revealed that Ahliana had confided in someone about his threatening behaviour just days before her tragic demise. Her grandmother, Tracy Smith, condemned Bady as a “coward” and a “21-year-old monster.”
Justice for Ahliana
Devastated by the loss of their daughter, Ahliana’s parents, Scott Dickey and Stephanie Wetherbee, have set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses and support their family during this difficult time. The community has rallied behind them, offering condolences and financial assistance.
This senseless act of violence has left a deep scar on the community, and justice must be served for Ahliana. May she rest in peace.
