Accident – Death – Obituary News : Early on Friday morning, authorities in Lowell received a distressing call reporting a disturbance on Lawrence Street. The caller informed the police that a male and female were engaged in a heated altercation, with the female pleading, “Get off me, get away from me, I don’t want to be with you anymore.” Gunshots were also reportedly heard during the incident.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers conducted a thorough search but were unable to locate any individuals on the street. However, surveillance footage from that night captured a young woman, later identified as Dickey, in the company of a man identified as Bady.

It was revealed that Bady had taken an Uber to Dickey’s residence before the tragic event occurred, and had left soon after the shooting. Subsequently, Bady was apprehended on Monday at a residence in Peabody without any resistance.

At a press conference held by Ryan at Lowell police headquarters on Monday, family members of both Dickey and Bady had gathered. Despite the somber atmosphere, there were moments of shared grief and solace as individuals embraced each other, wiping away tears in silence.

In the wake of Bady’s arrest, Scott Dickey, the father of the victim, expressed profound sorrow and shock at the loss of his daughter. The family set up a fundraising page on GoFundMe to help cover expenses and received an outpouring of support, with donations exceeding $9,000 towards the $20,000 target.

Court records revealed Bady’s involvement in previous criminal incidents, including an assault and robbery case in December 2021 and a firearm-related incident in January 2022. Despite these charges, both cases were ultimately dismissed due to insufficient evidence.

Addressing the escalating gun violence in Middlesex county, Ryan condemned the recent spate of fatal shootings, including Dickey’s tragic death. She emphasized the urgent need to address the prevalence of firearms and the devastating impact they have on communities.

The Dickey family requested privacy during this challenging time, as they grappled with their loss. Outside Dickey’s home, a poignant memorial of candles and flowers was left on the doorstep, with heartfelt messages expressing love and remembrance for the departed.

As the community mourned the loss of a young life, the echoes of this tragedy reverberated through Lowell and beyond, prompting reflection on the need for greater gun control measures and violence prevention strategies.
