Shweta Survase : Maharashtra Girl Reverses Car, Falls Off Cliff

A 23-year-old woman from Maharashtra’s Chhatarapati Sambhaji Nagar tragically lost her life while attempting to create social media content near the Dutt Dham Temple hill. The incident, which occurred while she was filming a video for her Instagram account, has sent shockwaves through social media platforms.

The young woman, identified as Shweta Survase, accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while the Toyota Etios car she was driving was in reverse gear. This mistake caused the car to rapidly move backward and ultimately plunge 300 feet into a gorge, as reported by the Indian Express.

According to a statement from the Khutabad police station official to news agency PTI, “Survase tried her hand at driving while her friend Shivraj Mule was recording a video. She inadvertently pressed the accelerator while the car was in reverse gear, leading to the vehicle sliding back, breaking a crash barrier, and falling into the valley. Despite the efforts of rescuers who took an hour to reach her and the vehicle, Survase was declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.”

The tragic incident unfolded as Survase, who reportedly had limited driving experience, was attempting to film a reel for her Instagram account. Her friend captured the moment as Survase was learning how to operate the vehicle, as detailed by the Indian Express. The fateful accident took place on a Monday afternoon around 2 PM, when Survase entered the car and began reversing slowly, according to NDTV.

Although the car was initially positioned around 50 meters from the cliff’s edge, the situation quickly escalated as Survase continued to reverse at an increasing speed. Despite her friend’s warnings to slow down and attempts to intervene, the car ultimately careened off the cliff, claiming Survase’s life in a heart-wrenching turn of events.
