Authorities in Butler County, Ohio, are on the hunt for the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of 37-year-old Mary Beth Blankenship. The incident occurred on June 15, and Blankenship was pronounced dead at the scene, located at the intersection of Millville Avenue and Boyle Road. Blankenship, who was just days away from celebrating her 38th birthday on June 18, was found by deputies from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office during a routine patrol in the area.
Blankenship’s family is pleading for the driver to come forward and provide answers regarding the tragic incident. “Come forward, nobody wants blood,” said Blankenship’s sister, Nancy Kneisley. “We are not out for vengeance. We just want answers. We just want to know if it was an accident. Let us know. Did you know her?”
According to her family, Blankenship had been celebrating her upcoming birthday at Nicc and Norm’s Tavern before the fatal accident. Described as someone who cared for everyone, Blankenship was known as the life of the party, who loved to sing and dance.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office has released information indicating that the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is believed to be a maroon Toyota Highlander, possibly a 2014 model or newer. The vehicle is expected to have sustained front-end damage and a broken or missing right headlight.
Kneisley expressed the family’s anguish and desire for closure, stating, “They took a lot from us, and I think they need to understand that they can’t go back, but at least give us some closure. You’ve already done the damage to our family. At least let us be able to grieve and have closure and get through this.”
The family is determined to seek justice for Blankenship and ensure that her death was not in vain. “We’re not going to stop until she hasn’t died in vain and there’s some sort of justice,” declared Kneisley.
