A devastating incident occurred on Sunday in Braintree, Massachusetts, resulting in the untimely death of a 35-year-old woman from Roxbury. The woman, identified as Magdalena Desrosiers, tragically lost her life after being struck by a car on Route 3.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the fatal accident took place around 3:10 a.m. when a 63-year-old man from Roxbury, accompanied by Desrosiers, collided with a deer while driving a 2013 Toyota RAV4. Following the collision, the vehicle came to a halt in the right lane of Route 3.
Both the driver and Desrosiers exited the car to inspect the damage caused by the collision. It was during this moment that tragedy struck, as a Jaguar F-PACE SUV, trying to avoid the stationary car, swerved into the breakdown lane and tragically struck Desrosiers.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and both the man and Desrosiers were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, Desrosiers succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The current condition of the man remains unknown at this time.
The aftermath of the accident led to the closure of the center and right lanes of Route 3 for approximately three-and-a-half hours, causing disruption to traffic flow in the area. The State Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
