In a harrowing incident in Lida Township, Minnesota, a Dickinson, North Dakota woman narrowly escaped a potentially tragic fate as her SUV was found submerged in a lake on Monday evening. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office sprang into action after receiving a distress call just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday, June 17, at the intersection of E. Lake Lizzie Road and County Highway 31.

Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered an unoccupied vehicle in the lake on the north side of the road. The driver, identified as 35-year-old Leah Studsrud from Dickinson, was located and found to be unharmed. Studsrud recounted the terrifying ordeal of her vehicle ending up in the lake, but thankfully, she managed to escape unscathed.

The SUV, which sustained significant damage estimated to be in excess of $1,000, was later retrieved from the lake. The swift response of the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office ensured that Studsrud was safely rescued from the potentially life-threatening situation.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the unpredictable nature of accidents.
