Accident – Death – Obituary News : A wanted man from Florida was apprehended by authorities on Saturday after his mobile phone inadvertently revealed his hiding spot in the ceiling of a business, as per reports from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Joshua Garrett, has been charged with resisting arrest and felony criminal mischief.

Deputies were summoned to a commotion near US 98 North and Duff Road in Lakeland, Florida, where they were informed that the individual causing the disturbance, later identified as Garrett, had departed the premises. Upon confirming the man’s identity as Garrett, law enforcement officials discovered that he was wanted for violating his probation, stemming from prior convictions of burglary, providing false information to a pawnbroker, and trafficking stolen goods.

Following leads, deputies traced Garrett to a business where he was employed, where it was confirmed that he had entered the premises but had not exited. Although an initial search of the property failed to locate him, suspicions arose that he may be concealing himself within the building, prompting a closer inspection of the ceiling. Observing displaced ceiling tiles and hearing the unmistakable ring of Garrett’s mobile phone, deputies directed their attention overhead.

Their efforts paid off when investigators spotted a hand protruding from beneath the insulation, leading to the discovery of Garrett in his hidden location. The sheriff’s office shared a light-hearted remark on Facebook, expressing relief that the hand was attached to a complete body, quipping that a detached hand would have taken the situation in a bizarre direction.

Garrett was subsequently extracted from the ceiling and transported to the Polk County jail to answer for his outstanding warrant. Additionally, he faces charges of resisting arrest and felony criminal mischief for causing approximately £1,000 worth of damage to his employer’s ceiling.
