Accident – Death – Obituary News : DeKalb County, Alabama – A shocking incident unfolded in Crossville last week when a man allegedly fired multiple shots into a occupied home, as reported by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. The incident took place on Thursday, June 13, when deputies received a distress call regarding gunfire directed at a residence on County Road 386.

Upon arriving at the scene, investigators executed a search warrant at the home after one of the occupants had fled. During the search, law enforcement officials discovered a substantial quantity of methamphetamines along with a handgun. Additionally, a total of nine shell casings were recovered from the premises, with five of them striking the house.

Following a thorough investigation, authorities identified the alleged perpetrator as 34-year-old Jose Guadalupe Perez of Crossville. Perez was promptly arrested and charged with five counts of discharging a firearm into a building, as well as two counts of menacing. Currently, he is being held at the DeKalb County Detention Center on a $3,000 bond.
