Accident – Death – Obituary News : GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The Greensboro Police Department has announced that multiple suspects have been charged with robbing postal workers in both Greensboro and Charlotte. The incidents took place on June 17, starting with a USPS employee being robbed at gunpoint in the area of Glenwood Avenue and Haywood Street while delivering mail. This was the second USPS employee who had been robbed in Greensboro on that Monday morning.

The suspects, driving a blue Nissan Rogue, then traveled to Charlotte where they continued to target USPS employees. The suspect vehicle was eventually spotted and stopped on Randleman Road in Charlotte. During a brief chase, one of the suspects, 18-year-old Jason Harrington, accidentally shot himself below the waist. Harrington was taken to the hospital for treatment, while the other three suspects, Taijawan Cross, 19, Shaun Clark, 21, and Deonte Overby, 20, were apprehended.

All four suspects have been charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of felony conspiracy for the robberies in Greensboro. Additional charges for the Charlotte robberies are currently pending.

Thankfully, none of the postal carriers who were robbed were injured during the incidents.

The police have assured that the investigation is ongoing and urge anyone with information to come forward. The collaboration between law enforcement agencies in both Greensboro and Charlotte highlights the importance of working together to combat crime and ensure the safety of postal workers and the community.

In a statement, Chief Brian James of the Greensboro Police Department emphasized the seriousness of these crimes and the swift action taken by law enforcement to apprehend the suspects. He also commended the postal workers for their cooperation and bravery during the incidents.
