A man from Minnesota was taken into custody on Monday after allegedly committing arson in a shocking incident at a Walgreens pharmacy drive-thru. The suspect, identified as 39-year-old James John Arthur Lund, set a woman’s car on fire while she was waiting in line at the store’s drive-thru.
Details of the Incident
The incident took place at approximately 10 a.m. when the man purchased a bottle of rubbing alcohol from the store. After exiting the building, he proceeded to pour the contents of the bottle onto the woman’s car before igniting it, as reported by the St. Cloud Police Department.
The woman, who was unaware of the man’s actions, only noticed the flames engulfing her vehicle. She quickly exited the car and managed to extinguish the fire using a bottle of water. Following the incident, she promptly contacted the authorities and provided them with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts.
Arrest and Charges
Law enforcement officers located the suspect approximately three blocks away from the scene and placed him under arrest. James John Arthur Lund now faces charges of 3rd degree arson and 5th degree drug possession. He is currently being held at the Stearns County Jail.
