A 38-year-old woman in Agra has been arrested for allegedly beating her ex-boyfriend to death with a baseball bat. The victim, identified as 40-year-old Brajveer Singh, was found dead in the Malpura area of Agra. The accused, Kavita Chahar, reportedly attacked Singh after he opposed her affair with another man.
Details of the Crime
According to the police, Kavita Chahar lured Brajveer Singh to a meeting where she, along with her new boyfriend and friends, attacked him with a baseball bat. She also smashed a beer bottle on his head, causing severe injuries. The incident took place on Saturday, and the accused have since been arrested.
Background of the Relationship
Kavita Chahar had been in a relationship with Brajveer Singh for ten years before the incident. She had fallen in love with Singh while living near her in-laws’ home and later moved to Agra to be with him. However, she eventually began a relationship with Surendra Chahar, which enraged Singh.
In 2019, Singh set fire to Surendra’s clothing store, leading to his imprisonment based on Kavita’s testimony. Upon his release, Singh allegedly warned Kavita against living with her new boyfriend, Surendra.
Details of the Murder
Due to threats from Brajveer Singh, Kavita Chahar and her friends planned to murder him. They called Singh for a meeting on June 15, where an altercation ensued. Chahar and her friends then attacked Singh with a baseball bat and a beer bottle, resulting in his death. The body was later dumped near the Rohta canal.
Legal Action
A complaint has been filed against Kavita Chahar and her friends under IPC sections 302 and 34, which pertain to acts done with a common intention. The accused have been sent to jail, as confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sonam Kumar.
Family Response
Brajveer Singh’s family had severed ties with him following his relationship with Kavita Chahar. They have refused to collect his body from Agra, citing their lack of connection with him.
