– Tragic shooting death of teenage girl in Lowell
– Alleged murder of young girl by older boyfriend in Lowell.
Accident – Death – Obituary News :
When Ahliana Dicke failed to attend her eighth-grade graduation ceremony on Friday afternoon, her family became increasingly concerned.
Little did they know that the lifeless body of the 15-year-old girl lay on the ground inside their family home in northeast Massachusetts, prosecutors revealed, the victim of apparent gunshot wounds.
Ahliana’s promising young life was tragically cut short when an intruder broke into her Lowell home just after midnight on Friday and shot her multiple times.
Less than 48 hours later, Trevor Bady, a 21-year-old from Tewksbury, was arrested by officers from the Lowell Police Department on various criminal charges, including murder, in connection with the girl’s untimely death.
Tewksbury is located approximately 5 miles southeast of Lowell, just south of the New Hampshire state line.
As of Tuesday, authorities had not yet determined a motive for the tragic killing.
During a press briefing on Monday, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Greg Hudon informed the media that Ahliana had been in an abusive relationship with Bady, whom the prosecutor identified as the girl’s boyfriend.
Hudon described the killing as an isolated incident.
“I was talking to her on the phone last night,” recalled the victim’s friend, Sklya Gutherie, to CBS Boston the day after the tragic event. “Still can’t believe it. She was happy… a positive individual.” Gutherie shared that Ahliana was looking forward to starting high school and had aspirations of making a positive impact in the world.

‘Parents should not have to bury their children’
Following the news of an arrest in the case, friends and acquaintances of Ahliana took to social media to express their sympathy and support for her family.
“This beautiful child did not deserve this,” wrote Tareena Pagan on Facebook, alongside a photo of a smiling Ahliana. “Thoughts and prayers for the Smith, Dickey, Rivera, and Wetherbee families.”
Ahliana Dicke never made it to graduation
Concerned when Ahliana did not show up for graduation, her family attempted to locate her before eventually going to her home to check on her.
At 6:10 p.m., her grandmother contacted the police to report the discovery of Ahliana’s lifeless body inside the family residence. Upon arrival, officers found Ahliana on the bedroom floor, her life taken by apparent gunshot wounds. Multiple shell casings were also found at the scene, according to Ryan.
Investigators revealed that the victim had been involved in an abusive relationship with Bady, who had allegedly physically assaulted and threatened her in the past. Ryan mentioned that the victim had confided in several individuals that Bady had threatened her as recently as the previous week.
Killer took Uber to and from Ahliana Dicke’s home
According to a joint statement from law enforcement and prosecutors, shortly after midnight on Friday, a call came in reporting a male and female engaged in a heated altercation outside across the street. The caller reported hearing a female voice screaming, “get off me, get away from me, I don’t want to be with you anymore,” followed by gunshots.
Upon responding to the scene, police did not find the male or female involved in the incident. However, video footage recovered from the area allegedly showed a female, later identified as the victim, calling out for help shortly before midnight, and a male, subsequently identified as the suspect, leaving the victim’s residence shortly after midnight.
Authorities also learned that the suspect had taken an Uber to and from the victim’s home before and after the fatal incident. The Uber driver later reported feeling uneasy about the passenger and expressed concerns, which led to the identification of the suspect.
On Monday, Bady was located at a residence in Peabody, around 30 miles southeast of the crime scene.
He was apprehended without incident, according to the statement.
Trevor Bady to appear in court on murder charge
In addition to the murder charge, Bady faces accusations of felony armed home invasion, illegal possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, use of a firearm while committing a felony, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
Prosecutors disclosed that Bady was scheduled to be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Tuesday.
