Accident – Death – Obituary News : When Ahliana Dicke failed to attend her eighth-grade graduation on Friday afternoon, her family became increasingly concerned. Little did they know that the 15-year-old girl was found lifeless inside the family’s home in northeast Massachusetts, prosecutors revealed, having succumbed to apparent gunshot wounds.

Tragically, Ahliana’s promising young life was cut short when police stated that an intruder broke into her Lowell residence just after midnight on Friday and fatally shot her multiple times. Less than two days later, Trevor Bady, a 21-year-old from Tewksbury, was apprehended by officers from the Lowell Police Department on various charges, including murder, in connection to the girl’s untimely demise. Tewksbury is located approximately 5 miles southeast of Lowell, just south of the New Hampshire state line.

As of Tuesday, authorities had not yet determined a motive for the heinous killing. During a press briefing on Monday, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Greg Hudon disclosed that Ahliana had been involved in an “abusive relationship” with Bady, whom the prosecutor referred to as the girl’s boyfriend. Hudon described the incident as isolated.

“I was on the phone with her last night,” Ahliana’s friend, Sklya Gutherie, recounted to CBS Boston the day after her tragic passing. “Still in disbelief. She was happy… a positive person.” Gutherie shared that Ahliana was eagerly anticipating starting high school and had aspirations of making a positive impact on the world.

Condolences poured in on social media from those who knew Ahliana after news broke of an arrest in the case. “This beautiful child did not deserve this,” Tareena Pagan expressed on Facebook alongside a photo of a beaming Ahliana. “Prayers for the Smith, Dickey, Rivera & Wetherbee families.”

When Ahliana failed to show up for graduation on Friday, her family grew increasingly worried and began searching for her before eventually checking her home. At 6:10 p.m., her grandmother contacted the authorities to report that Ahliana’s lifeless body had been discovered inside the residence. Responding officers found Ahliana in a bedroom, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds, with multiple shell casings found at the scene, as per Ryan.

Investigations revealed that the victim had been in an abusive relationship with Bady and that he had allegedly assaulted and threatened her in the past. Ryan disclosed that the victim had confided in several individuals that Bady had threatened her as recently as the previous week.

According to a joint statement from law enforcement and prosecutors, in the early hours of Friday morning, police received a report of a male and female engaged in a physical altercation outside a property across the street. The caller reported hearing the female shouting “get off me, get away from me, I don’t want to be with you anymore,” along with gunshots.

Police arrived at the scene but were unable to locate the individuals. However, video footage recovered in the vicinity allegedly captured the victim crying out for help shortly before midnight, with the defendant, identified as Bady, seen leaving the victim’s home shortly after midnight.

The statement also detailed that the defendant purportedly used an Uber to travel to and from the victim’s residence before and after the incident. The Uber driver later reported concerns about a suspicious passenger, who was identified as Bady.

On Monday, law enforcement officers located Bady at a property in Peabody, roughly 30 miles southeast of the crime scene. He was apprehended without any resistance.

In addition to the murder charge, Bady faces accusations of felony armed home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, use of a firearm during a felony, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building. Prosecutors confirmed that Bady was scheduled to appear in Lowell District Court on Tuesday.
