COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A man has been apprehended for allegedly climbing through a fast food drive-through window and attacking a worker at a Wendy’s establishment in east Columbus.

Police were called to the scene on May 30 at a Wendy’s located on East Main Street in Eastmoor. Two employees recounted the incident to authorities, stating that at 5:50 a.m., a man began banging on the drive-through window while holding a cellphone displaying the store manager’s name, insinuating a call from him.

Upon one employee opening the window, assuming the manager required his presence, the man in question asked for a female colleague who was also present but the restaurant had not yet opened. As one employee went to locate the woman, the man proceeded to climb through the drive-through window in search of her.

The suspect, identified as 44-year-old William Foster, followed the woman to the manager’s office and allegedly assaulted her multiple times, causing her to fall. Foster then took the woman’s cellphone before exiting the office.

The victim managed to get back up, fled from the office through the drive-through window, and attempted to enter Foster’s vehicle. Foster pushed her away before leaving the scene.

Police recovered the victim’s phone inside the restaurant and surveillance footage captured the entire incident.

The manager positively identified Foster from a photo array, revealing that Foster and the victim were residing in his basement.

Foster admitted to assaulting the victim when questioned by authorities. He was taken into custody on Saturday and appeared in Franklin County Municipal Court on Monday. Foster faces charges of aggravated robbery and was given a bond of $750,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 25 for a preliminary hearing.
