Accident – Death – Obituary News : A hiker tragically passed away due to a heart attack during a trek to Dodital in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district, while another was successfully rescued, officials confirmed on Monday.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) promptly responded to the incident after receiving the distress call, dispatching a team to Dodital track in the Agoda area.
Upon arrival, the SDRF team carefully transported the body of one of the trekkers via an alternate route on a stretcher to the main road, where it was handed over to the district police. The deceased has been identified as Virendra Chauhan, an Assistant Engineer of the Public Works Department stationed in Uttarkashi. Authorities determined that Chauhan’s untimely demise was a result of a heart attack.
In addition to the tragic loss, the team also managed to rescue another trekker, identified as Kanti Nautiyal, hailing from Matli in Uttarkashi. Nautiyal was safely brought to the base camp, marking a successful operation amidst the challenging circumstances.
The incident serves as a grim reminder of the unpredictable dangers that can accompany outdoor activities, highlighting the importance of proper preparation and caution while embarking on such adventures.
