Following a recent mass shooting in Michigan, a survivor of the mass shooting at Michigan State University is sharing his thoughts on the senseless violence that continues to plague the state.

The latest incident took place in Rochester Hills on Saturday, where a suspect opened fire at a splash pad, injuring nine people, two of whom are in critical condition. Witnesses reported that the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Michael William Nash, fired 28 bullets and paused to reload multiple times during the attack. Tragically, Nash later took his own life, leaving behind a community in shock and mourning.

Among the critically injured victims are an 8-year-old boy and his mother, adding to the heartbreak and devastation caused by this horrific event. The motive behind Nash’s actions remains unknown, with authorities citing mental health issues as a possible factor.

Troy Forbush, who was severely injured in the mass shooting at Michigan State University in February 2023, has been vocal about his feelings regarding the ongoing gun violence in Michigan.

“The recent incident at a splash pad on a summer day is a stark reminder that nowhere is safe from the threat of gun violence. My thoughts are with the families who are now forced to reconsider their plans and activities due to the pervasive fear of such attacks,” Forbush shared on X (formerly Twitter).
